» Articles List Song from movie "Constantine", Song from the "Constantine" Trailer and tV commercials
This song, featured on the "Constantine" trailer and also in TV commercials for the Movie constantine was one of the most haunting song I've heard all that year. The movie was released in 2005, and just recently came out on Cinemax.
The song is from a group called "A Perfect Circle" and it's called"Passive". This "Constantine" song is from an album called “eMOTIVe". The group has a great story. The song was a collaboration between the group and the great Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails. The song took a very long time to write, by some accounts it was more than 2 years in the making and went through more than 20 re-writes.
A Perfect Circle by Passive, Lyrics
Dead as dead can be
The doctor tells me
But I just can't believe him
Ever the optimistic one
I'm sure of your ability
To become my perfect enemy
Wake up and face me
Don't play dead 'cause maybe
Someday I will walk away and say
You disappoint me
Maybe you're better off this way
Leaning over you here
Cold and catatonic
I catch a brief reflection
Of what you could and might have been
It's your right and your ability
To become my perfect enemy
Wake up
(Why can’t you?)
And face me
(Come on now)
Don't play dead
(Don’t play dead)
'Cause maybe
(Because maybe)
Someday
(Someday)
I’ll walk away and say
You disappoint me
Maybe you're better off this way
Maybe you're better off this way (×3)
You're better off this (×2)
Maybe you're better off...
Wake up
(Why can't you?)
And face me
(Come on now)
Don't play dead
(Don’t play dead)
'Cause maybe
(Because maybe)
Someday
(Someday)
I’ll walk away and say
You f**king disappoint me
Maybe you're better off this way!
Go ahead and play dead
(GO!)
I know that you can hear this
(GO!)
Go ahead and play dead
(GO!)
Why can't you turn and face me?
(WAKE UP!)
Why can't you turn and face me?
(WAKE UP!)
Why can't you turn and face me?
(WAKE UP!)
Why can't you turn and face me?
(GO!)
You f**king disappoint me
Passive-aggressive bullshit... (×12)
Constantine was released by Warner Brothers and features Keanu Reeves and Rachel Weisz in main roles. Gavin Rossdale is also in the movie, he was a lead singer of a group called "Bush".
"Constantine" Synopsis:
Based on the DC Comics/Vertigo Hellblazer graphic novels and written by Kevin Brodbin and Frank Cappello, Constantine tells the story of John Constantine (Keanu Reeves), a man who has literally been to hell and back. When he teams up with skeptical policewoman Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) to solve the mysterious suicide of her twin sister, their investigation takes them through the world of demons and angels that exists just beneath the landscape of contemporary Los Angeles. Caught in a catastrophic series of otherworldly events, the two become inextricably involved and seek to find their own peace at whatever cost.
The movie is definitely worth watching. It's action packed and looks great, with very good special effects.
