I love the TV Show Lost. And when I saw the controversy around the very first episode of Season 2, I had to dive in deeper and research in as much detail as possible the new washer and drier in the hatch, which did not "fit in".
On Lost (TV Show, ABC) Season 2 premier, we finally saw Desmond inside the hatch in what looked like a 1970 to an early 1980 setup, but the washer and dryer in the background are clearly one of the newer models out on the market. Both washer and dryer machines are also front loaders, which hit the market not too long ago. The laundry detergent is also new, in a red plastic bottle, possibly Tide. I can't believe it's just an accident, especially since the machines appear in more than a few shots.

The washer and dryer looked brand new, and in fact, they are! As you can see in the picture below, it's a brand new set.

The dryer has been positively identified as Whirlpool 7.0 Cu. Ft. 8-Cycle Electric Dryer Model: GEW9250PW.

Note the Mama Cass record and lava lamp from the 60's, dishes from the 70's, a record player and computer from the early to mid 80's, and then the modern washer/dryer. Seems like the place is getting supplied on a periodic basis throughout the years. |
