Pontiac firebird car under snow during biggest snow storm on record

In the biggest snow storm in NYC since 1869, my firebird car was covered in snow!

Yes, I found my firebird just like you see in the pictures, totally covered under two feet of snow! It was pretty much a nightmare trying to get everything off and thaw the car, but I did it!

This Snowstorm Set Record For NYC. A record storm blanketed the city in more than two feet of snow on Sunday, February 12th, 2006. By 4 p.m., the National Weather Service reported that 26.9 inches of snow had fallen in Central Park, the highest tally since records started being kept in 1869.

The old record was 26.4 inches in December 1947. The storm caught some New Yorkers by surprise, coming on the heels of an unusually mild January. Cars were totally covered in snow.

Mayor Bloomberg urged everyone that "This is a dangerous storm," Bloomberg said. "Don't drive your cars in this snow storm unless you have to."
